Ambassador of Kuwait Presents Credentials to President Gokhool

His Excellency Mr Salem Rashed Al-Shebli, Ambassador of the State of Kuwait, presented his credentials to His Excellency Mr Dharambeer Gokhool, G.C.S.K., President of the Republic of Mauritius, at State House today.
The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Salem Al-Mishari, Diplomatic Attaché, and Mr Ezzeldin Mohamed Ezzeldin.
During the courtesy call, both sides reviewed the strong bilateral relations between Mauritius and the State of Kuwait, which were formally established in 1976. Existing areas of cooperation were highlighted, notably the financing of the Sir Anerood Jugnauth (SAJ) Hospital, a landmark project co-financed by the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development.
President Gokhool and Ambassador Al-Shebli also discussed opportunities to further strengthen collaboration in several priority sectors, including pharmaceutics, tourism, fisheries, energy, the environment, culture, and people-to-people connectivity.
Both parties underlined the importance and potential of elevating diplomatic relations to a strategic partnership. In this context, they acknowledged that the establishment of a Joint Commission could provide a structured and sustainable framework to enhance cooperation and deliver increased mutual benefits for Mauritius and Kuwait.
